RL Tuesday Social Morning
Our Social Morning will meet this week from 9.30-12 noon in Birdies Bar at Arabian Ranches Golf Club.
Tomorrow Night
RL Fashion Show: 10 February 2020
The RL Ladies In Red Fashion Show will be presented in collaboration with L’Arte and Studio One Hotel in Studio City tomorrow night from 7.30pm. It is not too late to book your place directly with Studio One on 04 581 6870.
Please tell everyone to come along for this first for Ranches Ladies and Studio One. If tomorrow evening is a success we hope to arrange more evening get togethers in the future. Everyone is welcome to join us including non RL members, family and friends. A 119 dhs entrance fee includes unlimited pizza and 2 free drinks
Oasis Fashion, House of Colour, and Abati will showcase their beautiful clothes and Hayet Zerelli will accessorise the outfits with her jewellery
Mr Miyagi’s and El Chapo’s restaurants at Studio One are offering drinks at happy hour prices and BoHo restaurant will serve all drinks at 50% discount after the fashion show.

with Rags to Riches
RL has a new home at Birdie’s Bar at Arabian Ranches Golf Club due to changes to the Baker Finch room. You can find Birdie’s a short stroll behind the clubhouse foyer beautifully situated on the greens.
We are meeting as usual from 9.30am and the Golf Club are offering a hot beverage and croissant for 25dhs. There will be no entrance charge this week . Come along and see our new venue.
Also this Tuesday we welcome Ceri Rocca, co-founder of Rags To Riches, which started in Dubai and soon spread all over the UAE. Rags To Riches is a group of enthusiastic people who put their sewing, knitting, crochet, quilting and crafting hobbies to good use by up-cycling preloved bed linen, fleece blankets and fabric into clothing and many more items and gifting them to orphanages and refugee camps around the world.

Emirates Airline Festival of Literature
Yvette Judge, Education and Children’s Programme Advisor for the Festival, spoke to us about The Emirates Airline Festival of Literature which took place last week and entertained us with news about the guest speakers, the workshops and the presentations. It is not easy running such a prestigious event and we are very grateful to Yvette for sparing us the time to let us in on the backstage secrets
The 7th International Dubai Quilt Show
We were also joined by Aish from Classic Quilts to tell us about the 7th International Quilt Show Dubai Quilt Exhibition on 27th, 28th and 29th of February 2020 at the Roda Al Murooj Hotel, Downtown Dubai. Entry is free so come along to the workshops, displays, stalls and competitions or just marvel at the amazing quilts.
Everyone is welcome as other crafts are represented this year and you will have shopping opportunities galore
This beautiful quilt was made by our very own Quilters Circle and will be raffled for charity at the International Quilt Show on 27-29 February with all proceeds going to Dubai Cares
Upcoming Social Mornings
18 February 2020: StudioOne Hotel
BoHo Restaurant
RL is collaborating with Studio One Hotel and we have been invited to a special morning in BoHo Restaurant from 11am. Please note the later start time.
For 55dhs we will get coffee and cakes and the chef from BoHo will give a cookery demonstration. He will also set a cooking competition with a great prize for the best cook, in his opinion!
25 February 2020: Victory Heights Coffee
RL are going on tour and we will have our usual social morning in Liz’s villa garden in Victory Heights. Meet from 9.30am and for 55 dhs enjoy a selection of beverages and delicious home made snacks. We will give more details nearer the time and also arrange some lift shares for those who need it.
We need to know numbers in advance so please let us know on ranches.ladies@gmail.com if you would like to come along. The more the merrier

The Walking Fitness Circle is every Monday at 7am. Meet Alex outside the main entrance of Ranches community centre for a leisurely walk followed by coffee at Costa
The Scottish Dancing Circle is every Wednesday from 9.30am in the Loft. Dance the cobwebs away!
The Yoga Circle meets every Thursday at 8.30am. With walking and pilates too you can really get fit!
