RL Tuesday Social Morning
Our Social Morning will meet this week from 9.30-12 noon in Baker Finch Room at Arabian Ranches Golf Club. Please note the programme starts at 10.30 am.

A Speech about Tolerance
2019 is the UAE Year of Tolerance! Nada will host a discussion about the concept of diversity in the UAE and outline the benefits of tolerance and diversity in our community of Dubai. Nada will explore the management of diversity and how to embrace it on a day to day basis. We look forward to welcoming Nada on Tuesday.
Announcements
On Tuesday 24th March, we met Dr Jennifer Kasirsky at RL Social Morning. Dr Jennifer is a doctor specialising in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the new Mediclinic Parkview Hospital. She spoke to us about the hugely important subject of teen health and specifically the HPV virus and the need for vaccinations. Thank you, Dr Jennifer, for giving us a wake up call about HPV vaccinations. No woman needs to die of cervical cancer. By vaccinating our young teens and with regular pap smear tests we can all be safe. It was a really inspirational talk and Mediclinic gave each of us a great goodie bag containing skin products and a water bottle too!
On Sunday 24th March the Ladies Lunch was held in Liz’s lovely garden. 31 women attended and Liz provided a delicious Mediterranean meal along with a host of delicious puddings which were donated by RL bakers. Thank you ladies. Liz had a super team of volunteers making the afternoon a great success. A big special thanks to Allison for donations of food and help in the kitchen. It was a special day. Due to low stock we are extending the period of time to the last Tuesday in April to collect bread making ingredients (which you can bring with you to the golf club reception desk or upstairs to the Baker Finch room.) Your support is much appreciated.

We have 2 new proposed circles and we would like you to let us know whether you like the sound of them and would be interested in joining. Please email Jenny, the circles coordinator, on circles.ranches.ladies@gmail.com to register your interest.
Rajul would like to start a silk printing, a glass painting and/or an embroidery circle. She would supply the materials and the expert tuition. She is an experienced artist and you would learn some skills that few people can claim to have and create some lovely works as well. Please let Jenny know on circles.ranches.ladies@gmail.com if you would be interested in silk printing, glass painting or embroidery.
Paola, the Italian Culture Circle leader, has suggested a lovely new circle based at Eataly Restaurant at Dubai Mall on a Thursday Morning starting on April 18th for 5 weeks. Each week the restaurant chef will showcase an Italian food item such as pasta, Italian bread, Mozzarella, and show you how it is made, talk about the history and allow you to taste it.
Session 1 -make Italian Bread April 18th
Session 2 – make Ravioli April 25th
Session 3 – make Mozzarella cheese May 2nd
Session 4 – make Tiramisu May 9th
Session 5 – make Focaccia bread May 16th
The second hour is a lesson by qualified Italian language teachers for beginners and advanced students. There will be 5 sessions in total and a minimum of 5 people must attend. You need not commit to all the sessions. Jenny will give more details if you email her.

This Week
The Art Circle has restarted and the RL artists are all glad to welcome back Liz.
The Arabic Conversation Circle will be held on Tuesday 2nd April as usual. Come along to Caribou Cafe in AR1 community centre at 12.30pm to learn some simple words and phrases in the beautiful Arabic language.
The Walking Fitness Circle meets every Wednesday at 7.00am prompt outside Caribou Cafe at AR1 community centre. Meet Alex or Julie and walk for 5 miles then enjoy a drink at Costa.
The Cinema Circle meets every Monday morning to go and watch one of the latest films, chosen each week from a choice of 3, usually at Vox Cinema in Mall of the Emirates and then everyone enjoys a coffee and chat about what they’ve just seen afterwards. What an enjoyable way to see the latest movies with friends!

The Literary Lunch Circle will meet on Monday 15th April. The chosen book is The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, a great book!
The Book Circle will meet again on Sunday 21st April. The book we are reading is “I Was Told To Come Alone” by Souad Mekhennet.

19th April 2019 : Gatsby on the QE2
This immersive experience brings the novel The Great Gatsby to life and will take place on the majestic QE2 across all 3 decks, moored at Port Mina Rashid in Bur Dubai. Join Ranches Ladies for a magnificent Ladies Only night and experience the parties and the drama, the hope and the loss, the love and the despair of this American Classic event.
