RL Tuesday Social Morning
Our Social Morning will meet this week from 9.30-12 noon in Baker Finch Room at Arabian Ranches Golf Club. Please note the programme starts at 10.30 am.
February 5th 2019 Talk: Shamma Clinic
Facial Aesthetics using Botox and Fillers
Gulzhan Saipova from Shamma Clinic, one of our RL beauty discount partners, will talk to us about facial aesthetics using botox and thermal fillers. She will answer any questions you have and will perform skin assessments and check ups.
Shamma Clinic is also offering goodie bags to all RL members who attend with products from La Roche Posay and L’Oreals SkinCeuticals ranges with a voucher for a free full facial treatment experience. Don’t miss this wonderful presentation.
Announcements
We are very sad to lose not one but two longstanding members of RL committee, Yvonne Pond and Angela Souter, in the coming months. Angela stood down from her position as Circles Coordinator at Ranches Ladies as she and her husband are returning home after many years here in Dubai. She has been a stalwart of Ranches Ladies and a great friend and huge support to our President Connie and over many years to Carole, our Honorary President. The continuing success of the RL Circles Programme is largely down to Angela’s commitment and we thank her very much indeed. Angela, you will be missed!
Yvonne has had the often tricky role of RL Treasurer and has overseen many changes to the finances of our organisation over the years, for most of that time without access to a bank account! Financing the executive office is one headache the Treasurer no longer has to deal with but which Yvonne managed very successfully. We have all enjoyed her social morning presentations about her many trips to exotic and far flung destinations. Please keep us posted with all your adventures, Yvonne, and thank you very much for your hard work.
But on a happier note, please give a warm welcome to Jenny Economou and Jeanette Entwistle who have kindly agreed to take over the Circles Coordinator and Treasurer roles . Many of you will already know Jeanette from her trips to Al Ihsan in Ajman. Jenny will be in touch with all the Circles’ leaders shortly but please give her all the help and assistance you can. Welcome Jenny and Jeanette!

Thank you to Yvette Judge for giving us an entertaining look behind the scenes of the Emirates Literature Festival (which is being held on 1-9 March 2019) at the RL Social Morning last Tuesday. Well done to the lucky winners of her quiz too!
Al Ihsan
Many thanks for your donations of medications, toiletries and cakes. Jeanette and a few RL members delivered a car load of goodies last week and the receiving ladies were absolutely delighted. We had such a rush of excitement from the queue we didn’t have time to take a photo!
For February we are collecting tins, dried goods and shoes and, as always, unused medications. If you would like to help by bagging up or on distribution night please get in touch with Jeanette on ranches.ladies@gmail.com or speak to her on Tuesday morning.

The Ladies Lunch is on Sunday 10th February from 12.30pm when we will enjoy a traditional Arabic mezze at Al Arrab Lebanese restaurant in Arabian Ranches 1 retail centre. Please register on the circles email above if you would like more details and to sign up.
The Handicrafts Circle is on today, 3rd, and 17th February on Jumeira Golf Estates. Please let Bettina know if you are coming on the circles email.
Mosaics this month is on 6th and 20th February in Savannah.
Coming Up Soon
The Book Circle is reading Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate for the meeting on 17th February.
The Literary Lunch Circle will meet on Monday, 18th February. The book is “In Order to Live – A North Korean Girl’s Journey” by Leonmi Park and will generate a lot of discussion.
The Poetry Circle will take place in Savannah on Arabian Ranches 1 on 25th February at 2.30pm and the topic this month is “Scenery and Landscapes”.
The Newcomers Social Morning will be held on 28th February at Shakespeare’s Cafe upstairs at AR1 community centre. Everyone is welcome.
New Circles
We are proposing to start an Arabic Conversation Circle on Tuesday afternoons in the Arabian Ranches 1 centre. Please tell us if this is a suitable time so the circle can start.
Previous Trip
27th January: Dubai Frame and Zaa’beel Park
We visited one of Dubai’s remarkable and beautiful new attractions and took a lift to the viewing area at the top of the Frame with stunning views over Dubai. The 14 ladies who attended agreed it was a marvellous experience and one of the best RL trips organised by Allison so far, quite an accolade!
