Our Social Mornings meet from 9.30-12 noon in the Baker Finch Room, Arabian Ranches Golf Club. Please note the programme starts at 10.30 am.
November 20th 2018 Talk: Bestselling Author Karen Osman
with Arabian Ranches’ Head Chef Nugi
RL are delighted to introduce the award winning author Karen Osman. Her second novel The Home was recently released following the success of her first bestselling book The Good Mother. It is another chilling read and delves into the darkness of living in a children’s home, casting a shadow over family ties and what it means to belong.
Arabian Ranches’ Head Chef Nugi will cook up a variety of sweet treats for us to try. Our chosen favourites will be served at the Tuesday Social Mornings.
Announcements
Thank you to everyone who made the Bazaar such a huge success. A special thanks to Hayet our Vice President for organising the whole event. Lorna and her team of helpers decorated the room beautifully and our stallholders contributed to the lovely festive atmosphere. Members and visitors enjoyed the shopping, coffee and cakes supplied by Arabian Ranches’ Golf Club and the raffle. We look forward to seeing you all again next year for this lovely event.

We are currently collecting reusable bags (not plastic) to fill with fruit and vegetables for distribution on 4th December to the nightly food kitchen in Ajman. Please drop off your bags with the meet and greet ladies. The food queue goes round the building with many mouths to feed so please give as many bags as you can spare.
There is still no ATM at Arabian Ranches Golf Club so please come prepared!
Forthcoming Programmes
Tuesday 27th November – Kinesiology specialist Amanda Savory and Just Giving introduced by Jackie Daair.
With over 2 decades as a Primary Years teacher and Educational Consultant in the UK and Middle East, Amanda’s interest in healing followed a traumatic horse riding accident. Holistic remedies and kinesiology helped her to face her fears and move forward. Amanda’s passion is using Touch for Health Kinesiology with both adults and children to achieve their full potential. Amanda is an animal lover and still a keen horse rider. She uses her skills to introduce the magic of kinesiology to animals, particularly horses, dogs and their owners.
Jackie will tell us about the rise and benefits of taking part in the annual movement #GivingTuesday.
Tuesday 4th December – Neda’s Cakes by Neda Lakarany and Donation Day for fruit and vegetables for Al Ihsan
Neda’s Cakes creates highly detailed cakes and cupcakes for all occasions using the highest quality ingredients and materials. Her clients are always delighted!
Please bring along donations of basic root vegetables, ginger, garlic, apples and oranges, all of which are very welcome.

Next Week
Gayle of the Singing Circle is still looking for singers for the Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Golf Club on 15th December. The choir meets weekly at 11.20am on Wednesday upstairs in the Loft at AR Golf Club. She encourages anyone who enjoys singing to join this joyful choir.
The Gardening Circle is being hosted by Dubai Garden Centre on 22nd November from 9.30am. The topic is “Choosing and caring for Water Lilies and Pond Plants”. Please register your interest by email.
Due to the public holiday on 18th November The Book Circle is meeting on the following Sunday 25th November. They are reading “The Second Mrs Hockaday” by Susan Rivers.
The Literary Lunch Circle is still meeting on Monday 19th November and the book is “The Red Sari” by Javier Moro.
The Mosaics Circle is taking place on 21st November in Savannah.
Newcomer’s Coffee will be on Thursday 29th November. Come early from 9.30-11.30am upstairs in Shakespeare’s Cafe, Arabian Ranches 1 retail centre. We welcome members, non members, established and new ladies and you don’t need to live on the Ranches. Everyone is welcome.

25th November: Dubai Opera Backstage Tour
Join Allison on an exclusive backstage tour of Dubai’s marvellous Opera House. This special tour is not often available as it can only be done when there are no performances. There is an entrance fee of 175 AED payable in advance.

5th December: Marks and Spencer (Festival City Mall)
Marks and Spencer at Dubai Festival City Mall has invited RL members to attend their free event from 9.30-1pm on 5th December. The show focusses on fashion, food tasting and homewares. A sign up list will be circulated at Tuesday meetings.
