Wishes & Dreams
Rajul Chander, one of the Poetry Circle members and leader of the Art Circle, has written a beautiful poem on the theme of the last Poetry Circle meeting: ‘Wishes and Dreams’
When I was a little girl, everything in future looked like a dream
To dress well and look good was a dream
To get married to Prince Charming was a dream
To have beautiful kids was a dream
To be rich was a dream
To go for a fancy holiday was a dream
So many dreams!!!
Now I have lived through all these phases
Dressed in satin, silk and laces
Been to places breathtakingly divine
Seen mountains, lakes and tasted the best of wine
Married a man who is a thorough gentleman
And lived a beautiful life one possibly can
Had two kids who are bright, loving and kind
A matter of pride any mother would find
Enough money to buy all that I wish
From fine clothes, jewels, to my favorite dish
All my dreams come true, I have seen
Yet everything around me looks mundane and routine
Now I am searching for a more meaningful life
Than just having all I wished, and still be in strife
A heaven on earth where people are generous and kind
Where hearts are filled with love and people have a beautiful mind
Nothing to fear and there is no hate
Where everyone is dear and all feel great
In such a world I wish to live
Each at his best and each willing to give
If everyone decides to be true and kind
Heaven on earth we can find
Tuesday Mornings and Membership Renewals
Ranches Ladies are meeting on Tuesday mornings for coffee at Larte Restaurant in Studio One Hotel, Studio City (across the roundabout from the back entrance of Arabian Ranches 1) from 10.30am – 12pm. It is a great chance to catch up and find out about membership and activities.
Thanks to all the ladies who have already renewed their membership.
If you have not yet renewed your membership, or you would like to join as a new member, you can do this at Larte Cafe, Studio One Hotel, Studio City on any Tuesday morning from 10.30am to 12 noon.

If you are unable to get to Larte on Tuesday morning to do your renewal, you can ask a friend to bring your form, copy of your ID and membership fee.

Volunteers Still Needed!
Ranches Ladies cannot run without the valuable work of our members who volunteer as board, committee members or helping out in other roles.
We still urgently need volunteers for 2 roles:
Membership Coordinators – to help sign up new members on Tuesday mornings and maintain membership list.
Web-team members – to help post to Social Media, respond to messages or update the website.

French Circle
Sadly, The French Circle have had to say said goodbye to Dominique, their French teacher, who is return to Paris. Thank you to Dominique for making learning French fun, we will miss you!

Gardening Circle
The first meeting of this season will be to the Garden Concept Store which is the new garden shop next to the Dubai Garden Centre on Sh Zayed Road. They have kindly offered their plant expert to us a talk on orchid & other houseplant care. They have also offered 20% discount on the day. After the talk we can have coffee at the in-house cafe and browse the store.
There are currently only a few spaces left, so please contact Jackie on circles.ranches.ladies@gmail.com as soon as possible if you would like to come.
Walking Circle
The Walking Circle are continuing indoors until the weather cools down. New ladies are always welcome to join.
Meet at Dubai Hills Mall outside Marks and Spencer’s at 9am to walk for one hour around the mall before the shops open. We stop afterwards for refreshments and a chat at the small cafe inside M&S – they offer a loyalty card to get a free tea or coffee after you buy 9 drinks, and great pastries for an only an extra 1 AED when you buy a drink.
Closest parking is via Entrance E, Sharaf DG Parking P1.

Indoor Climbing Circle
The Indoor Climbing Circle are hoping to restart soon – date to be decided. New members welcome, no experience required.

Walking at Kite Beach
The Beach Walking Circle, led by Monika, have restarted. They meet at Kite beach (Blue Villas parking) on Tuesdays at 6.30am, walk for around 7-8 km and stop for coffee afterwards.

Art Circle
The Art Circle, led by Rajul, are meeting on Thursdays from 10am to 12 noon to learn new techniques and create beautiful paintings. New members welcome.

Shanghai Circle
The Shanghai Circle are meeting to play from 2.30-4.30pm on Fridays at Sushi Library in Dubai Hills Mall. If you would like to join them, please email Supriya: circles.ranches.ladies@gmail.com
Mosaics Circle
The Mosaics Circle, led by Ayesha, are meeting on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 9.30am till 1pm in Green Community East, DIP.

Pilates Circle
The Pilates Circle meet on Thursday afternoons 2-3pm, at Optimal Fitness in Studio City. Gillian from Optimal Fitness is teaching the class and there is space for more ladies to join.

Literary Lunch Circle
The Literary Lunch Circle, led by Ashfaa, meet over lunch to discuss a book they have read. Meetings are usually on the 3rd Monday of the month, but may change.
Before the summer break they read Songbirds by Christy Lefteri, but the discussion was postponed as many could not make it. The current book is The Marble Collector by Cecelia Ahern. Both books will be discussed today, Monday 26th September, 12.30pm at the Ranches Golf Club Restaurant. New members welcome.

One of our new members, Maria, has offered to take on the Spanish circle ( beginners & intermediate). Maria has an experience of 30 years as a teacher and her lessons are fun, interactive and enjoyable. Meetings would be on either Wednesday or Thursday mornings – details to be confirmed once there are enough sign ups.
