This week we celebrate the remarkable achievements of the United Arab Emirates as a nation over the last 50 years, as well as looking forward to the future.

Festive Bazaar
Our Festive Bazaar, in collaboration with Origin, was held at The Sustainable City plaza last Thursday evening. Thank you to all Ranches Ladies who helped to make it a successful event and an enjoyable evening. Also thank you to Origin and Sustainable City and all the vendors who participated.
Tuesday Mornings
We are currently meeting on Tuesday mornings at Larte Restaurant in Studio One Hotel, Studio City (across the roundabout from the back entrance of Arabian Ranches 1) from 10.30am- 12pm for coffee and chat, as well as new memberships and renewals.
We hope to be able to restart our social and cultural programme as soon as possible. Stay tuned for details.

Trip to Dubai Opera
On 22nd November, a group of Ranches Ladies enjoyed a trip to Dubai Opera to see Dial M for Murder.
There will be more trips organised in 2022, details to follow.

The Bridge circle, led by Manju, are meeting to play on Thursdays at 11am.

The Mosaics Circle, led by Ayesha, will be on Wednesdays from 10am – 1pm, as long as there are enough ladies, in Green Community East, DIP.

Manoly is restarting the Intermediate Spanish Circle, once a week on Mondays at 5.30pm.

Beginners Arabic Circle
Would you like to learn Arabic?
The Beginners Arabic Circle, led by Rana Nazer, will be meeting on Thursday 12.45 – 1.45pm. Location to be confirmed.

Mahjongg Monday Circle
The Mahjongg Monday Circle are meeting to play on Mondays from 10am to 1pm, upstairs in Shakespeare and Co, Arabian Ranches 1.

Poetry Circle
The poetry circle are meeting once a month on Monday afternoons, to share and discuss poems on a theme. The next meeting is on Monday 29th November, 2pm, and the theme is travel.

Yoga Circle
Mariana is teaching yoga. The days have changed to Sundays and Thursdays from 8.30am. The format is 60 minutes of yoga and 30 minutes for tea and snacks.

Quilters Circle
Ranches Ladies Quilters are a group within Ranches Ladies who love creating with quilting, sewing and embroidery.
Monthly meetings are on the third Sunday of the month, currently via Zoom until further notice. There will be various activities, including inviting local and international quilting experts, to share their work and teach different techniques.

French Circle
For those who know some basic French but would like to improve and learn more, join the French Circle on Sundays from 10am. The venue varies.

Art Circle
The Art Circle, led by Rajul, meet on Thursday mornings to learn new techniques and create beautiful paintings. The venue may vary. They are taking a break during December and will restart in January.

Literary Lunch Circle
The next book for the Literary Lunch Circle is The Phone Box at the Edge of the World by Laura Imai Messina – this beautiful book is both a small, quiet love story and a vast expansive meditation on grieving and loss. To be discussed on Monday 17th January.

Book Circle
The Book Circle meets on the third Sunday of each month at 10am to discuss a book which everyone has read prior to the meeting.
The book for December is ‘The Beauty of Living Twice’ by Sharon Stone. This will be discussed on Sunday 19th December.

Walking Fitness Circle
The walking circle have restarted now that the weather is less hot. We meet at 7.30am outside Arabian Ranches 1 retail centre main entrance. We walk for approximately one hour at a moderate, but not too slow pace, stopping back at the retail centre for coffee afterwards.
No special equipment required – just normal trainers, maybe a cap or hat and a small bottle of water.

Gardening Circle
The gardening circle are looking forward to welcoming Amanda Ainsworth on Wednesday 8th December. Come along to find out more about succulents, which are great for growing in Dubai’s climate.

International Lunch Circle
However, the international lunch circles are looking for volunteers to host upcoming lunches. We already have offers of people to cook food from their home countries and dishes and cutlery available.

Hiking Circle
The hiking circle made their first hike last week to Al Rabi peak. If you would like to join them on future hikes please email circles.ranches.ladies@gmail.com

Gillian from Optimal Fitness is now planning to start the Pilates circle in January. It will be on Wednesday afternoons at 2pm, at Optimal Fitness in Studio City. At least 4 ladies are needed in order to run the class. Please email Email circles.ranches.ladies@gmail.com for more information.
Scottish Dancing Circle
Carole is hoping to restart the Scottish Dancing Circle, which was very popular before they had to take a break due to the pandemic, on Wednesday mornings. A few more ladies are needed in order to restart.
