RL Circles News

Since there will not be any official RL activities for a while, and people may find themselves at a loose end, RL is posting activities and ideas for RL members to enjoy at home

Please contact Jackie on circles.ranches.ladies@gmail.com with your pictures, suggestions and activities

Suggested Activities

Members of the Gardening Circle have been making great suggestions for potting up cuttings, sowing seeds, rescuing orchids and maintaining your garden furniture

The Yoga Circle

Keep Fit with Yoga!

Mariana’s yoga group usually meets every Monday and Thursday but while classes are on hold you can still carry on keeping fit !  She live streamed Kids Yoga at Home on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m and for yoga for adults at 5.30pm on Thursday.   Look out for more from Mariana on FB

Members of the Mosaics Circle are completing projects at home. Karen and Elizabeth sent us pictures of their wall friezes

Anshu and Sara have taught themselves how to quilt from Youtube and are enjoying creating quilts and wallhangings.  There are unlimited resources on the internet so take some time time to explore. There are art classes, crochet, quilting….anything you have an interest in

Members of the art circle are still painting and Nazreen has sent in a lovely floral watercolour. The artists are also practising sketching noses

Karen from the Quilter’s Circle has been busy with fabric and in addition to quilts she has been making soft toys, a quilted book cover and a christmas table runner.

Members of the mahjongg circles are teaching their families to play this engrossing game. It is a great time filler

The Pilates Circle

Phillipa, the Pilates Circle leader, has kindly shared these Pilates exercises. They are easy to do at home!

Keep moving!

The Literary Lunch Circle

The Literary Lunch circle’s next book is The Other Half of Augusta Hope by Joanna Glen

If the circle is unable to meet as planned on 15th April due to the current restrictions, Karen will be organising telephone discussions in pairs.

The Book Circle

Time to Read!
With so many activities postponed or cancelled, you may be finding yourself with time on your hands so why not pick up a good book?  RL Book Circle usually meets once a month to discuss a book we have all read.  After the discussion, we rate the book on a scale of one to five.  If you are looking for something to read, here are some of the titles we have enjoyed most over the last year or so:
The Muse by Jessie Burton
Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
The Colour by Rose Tremain
The Paris Wife by Paula McLain
Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate

Book circle are also reading A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles ready for their next meeting in April. We hope to be able to meet by then but if not we will discuss remotely.

Anyone else who is reading or has already read the book is welcome to send their comments to Jackie at circles.ranches.ladies@gmail.com and she will collate and share

Happy reading!

RL Challenge set by Jackie

Jackie’s granddaughter has challenged her to learn this dance routine from youtube. Perhaps we could challenge all RL to learn it and then when things get back to normal we can all do it at our first meeting.  Click on the link below to see the dance
