International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women, as well as calling for action to accelerate women’s equality.
International Women’s Day at Expo
On International Women’s Day, Expo 2020 are hosting a morning assembly to delve into important discussions about gender equality and women’s empowerment at DEC – Hall 2A South. This event is dedicated to celebrate women all over the world and raise awareness on female leadership roles in the UAE, as well as their success stories.

Hag Al Laila Celebration at Sustainable City
Hag Al Laila is an Emirati tradition celebrated on the 15th of Sha’ban, the month before Ramadan. The Sustainable City will have fun activities and market stalls for both kids and adults on Friday 11th March in the evening.
Tuesday Mornings
Join us for at Larte Restaurant in Studio One Hotel, Studio City (across the roundabout from the back entrance of Arabian Ranches 1) from 10.30am- 12pm. It is a great chance for existing Ranches Ladies members to catch up and for new ladies to find out about membership and activities.

International Lunch Circle
On 28th February, The International Lunch Circle enjoyed delicious Malaysian food, cooked by Ai Ling, Sue and Yvonne. It was a fun time learning about the mix of cultures and cuisines in Malaysia. Thank you to the cooks, Ai Ling for hosting and Carole for organising the circle.
British Afternoon Tea at the Races
The next meeting will be Afternoon Tea at the Races with British Afternoon Tea, hosted by Jan Hennessey, 23rd March from 2.30pm.

Art Circle
The Art Circle are meeting on Thursday mornings to learn new techniques and create beautiful paintings. The venue may vary.

The Pilates Circle has now started on Thursday afternoons 2-3pm, at Optimal Fitness in Studio City. Gillian from Optimal Fitness is teaching the class and there is space for more ladies to join.

Book Circle
The Book Circle are currently reading ‘Around The World in 80 Trains’ by Monisha Rajesh, National Geographic’s traveller book of the year – filled with brief encounters, Orwellian nightmares and a swirl of cultures on a seven‑month, 45,000‑mile adventure.
They will meet to discuss this on Friday 18th March at 9.30am.

Literary Lunch Circle
The Literary Lunch Circle’s new book is The Lobotomist’s Wife by Samantha Green Woodruff. This historical novel tells of a cutting-edge breakthrough in psychiatry which turns out to be a nightmare in the making, and a compassionate and relentless woman fighting against the odds in a man’s world.
The Literary Lunch Circle will meet on Monday 21st March at 12pm.

Would you like to learn how to cook a variety of Asian food? The new Asian Cookery Circle, led by Gaik Hood, will start on Wednesday 2nd March.

Do you love quilting, sewing and embroidery? Then Ranches Ladies Quilters welcome new members and they meet on the third Monday of each month. They are also looking for new volunteers to help the group keep running smoothly.

The walking fitness circle meet on Mondays at 7.30am outside Arabian Ranches 1 retail centre main entrance. They usually walk for about an hour, with coffee afterwards back at the retail centre.
