International Women’s Day Events
Tuesday Mornings
Join us for at Larte Restaurant in Studio One Hotel, Studio City (across the roundabout from the back entrance of Arabian Ranches 1) from 10.30am- 12pm. It is a great chance for existing Ranches Ladies members to catch up and for new ladies to find out about membership and activities.

The number of Circles are growing, so it is not possible to fit all the Circles and activities on this newsletter each week.

New – Asian Cookery
Would you like to learn how to cook a variety of Asian food? The new Asian Cookery Circle, led by Gaik Hood, will start on Wednesday 2nd March.

Gardening Circle
The Gardening Circle had a great visit to Leila Mukkaimer’s beautiful garden on The Palm last Friday 25th February. Many thank to Leila for her kind hospitality and gardening tips.

International Lunch Circle
The Malaysian International Lunch, hosted by Ai Ling is today. This is fully booked.
‘Ladies Day at the Races’ with British Afternoon Tea, hosted by Jan Hennessey, is planned for 23rd March from 3pm.

Pilates Circle
The Pilates Circle has now started on Thursday afternoons 2-3pm, at Optimal Fitness in Studio City. Gillian from Optimal Fitness is teaching the class and there is space for more ladies to join.

Book Circle
The Book Circle are currently reading ‘Around The World in 80 Trains’ by Monisha Rajesh, National Geographic’s traveller book of the year – filled with brief encounters, Orwellian nightmares and a swirl of cultures on a seven‑month, 45,000‑mile adventure.
They will meet to discuss this on Friday 18th March at 9.30am.

Literary Lunch Circle
The Literary Lunch Circle’s new book is The Lobotomist’s Wife by Samantha Green Woodruff. This historical novel tells of a cutting-edge breakthrough in psychiatry which turns out to be a nightmare in the making, and a compassionate and relentless woman fighting against the odds in a man’s world.
The Literary Lunch Circle will meet on Monday 21st March at 12pm.

French Circle
The French Circle were sad to say au revoir and bon voyage to one of their members over the past several years, Karen Searle, who is moving back to the UK.

Art Circle
The Art Circle are meeting on Thursday mornings to learn new techniques and create beautiful paintings. The venue may vary.

Quilters Circle
Do you love quilting, sewing and embroidery? Then Ranches Ladies Quilters welcome new members and they meet on the third Monday of each month. They are also looking for new volunteers to help the group keep running smoothly.
Last month the Quilters Circle had fun learning how to make t-shirt yarn from old cotton T-shirts. Vidhya also demonstrated how to crochet or braid the yarn to make useful household items, such as a hanging planter.
More exciting projects are planned for the coming months.

Walking Fitness Circle
The walking fitness circle meet on Mondays at 7.30am outside Arabian Ranches 1 retail centre main entrance. They usually walk for about an hour, with coffee afterwards back at the retail centre.
