International Day of Happiness
Saturday 20th March is International Day of Happiness. The theme for 2021 is Keep Calm. Stay Wise. Be Kind.
The past year has been difficult for many people in many ways.
The Action for Happiness Website has many helpful ideas on how to look after ourselves and each other, as we hope for better days to come.
Today is Mother’s Day in the UK.
In the UAE and some other Arab countries it is celebrated next week, while many other countries celebrate Mothers Day on the second Sunday of May.
Whenever you celebrate, we wish you a very Happy Mother’s Day
Tuesday Morning Coffee Meet Ups
We are waiting for approval to restart our regular Tuesday social mornings and hope this will become possible as COVID cases drop and more people are vaccinated.
In the meantime, please pop along to LARTE restaurant in Studio One Hotel on Tuesday mornings from 10.30 – 11.30am to meet Julia or Jeanette and find out about membership and activities.

Literary Lunch Circle
The March book choice for the Literary Lunch Circle is Anxious People by Fredrik Backman, a poignant comedy about a crime that never took place, a would-be bank robber who disappears into thin air, and eight extremely anxious strangers who find they have more in common than they ever imagined. It will be discussed on Monday 15th March.

Art Circle
The Art Circle meet on Thursday mornings and have been making the most of the current weather, drawing and painting outside.

Walking Fitness Circle
Members of the Walking Fitness Circle meet at 7.30am outside Costa coffee at AR1 community centre every Monday. We are walking in socially distanced pairs, and walk for around an hour, finishing where we begin at Costa.

Book Circle
The Book Club meets on the third Sunday of each month at 10am. In March they are reading Night Boat to Tangier by Kevin Barry, a darkly comic tale about two ageing Irish gangsters. This will be discussed on 21st March. The April choice will be Becoming by Michelle Obama.

French Circle
The French Circle is up and running virtually so if you would be interested in improving your language skills get in touch with Dominique on ranches.ladies@gmail.com. Classes are held every Sunday at 10am
Spanish Circle
The Spanish Circle has also restarted remotely this month led by Manoly. The times of the classes are:
Mondays 5.30pm for intermediates and Wednesdays 11.30am for beginners

Pilates Circle
On Wednesday at 2pm Philippa at Optimal Fitness is holding Pilates classes and offers RL members a discount on Zumba classes on Tuesday mornings. Email her on philippa@optimalfitness.ae
