Eid Mubarak blessed by the grace of Allah

Still Going Strong

Ranches Ladies was front page news back in 2010. It is wonderful that Carole has kept our organisation flourishing for over 14 years and that we are still here as strong as ever in 2020. A few faces may have changed but Carole is still an active member offering her support and advice to the Committee and our president, Hayet, and running her ever popular Scottish Dancing and Poetry Circles.

What a marvellous thing to see, thanks to Clementina for spotting it

Keep in Touch

Please continue to email circles.ranches.ladies@gmail.com with all your pictures, suggestions and activities during lockdown. We love to see what everyone is getting up as the lockdowns are easing.  We are watching carefully all the news about the easing of restrictions and will let you know when we start to discuss the next steps

Let us know where you are at the moment and send some lovely photos so we can see what is happening around the globe

Karen has finally completed her mosaic table top.  It is a marvellous art deco design and she has been using all the skills she has learnt in her mosaic circle classes

Rajul, the silk painting class leader, has been getting creative with her daughter. They have done some intricate zentangle designs and Rajul painted this lovely watercolour

Carole has painted this wonderful watercolour of Neil Gow, an eighteenth century Scottish fiddle player

The Gardening Circle

Pest Control Tips from the Gardening Circle

If you have a problem with leaf rust on your plants – especially ficus and frangipani, Susan has had great success treating hers with NeemGuard which is available from Amazon and also the Dubai Garden Centre. Be sure to follow the instructions on the bottle.

Look out for mealy bugs attacking your hibiscus and frangipani plants at this time of year especially on the new leaves and flower buds. These can be sprayed with a mixture of 2 tsp of washing up liquid in 4 lts of water in the late afternoon
