RL Wednesday Social Morning

 Our Social Morning will meet this week from 9.30-12 noon in Carole’s Garden in Savannah

18 December 2019: Festive Garden Party

On Wednesday 18 December Carole will host her annual festive garden party in Savannah for members of Ranches Ladies and their visiting house guests. All offers of food are welcome. There will be an entrance fee of 55 dirhams collected in advance which will be used for RL fundraising.

New Year Social Morning

The date has changed and the extraordinary AGM will be held on 14th January 2020 to enable as many people as possible to attend. This a legal requirement from the Civil Development Authority whenever there are changes to the Board.

Ranches Ladies can only run its Circles, trips, discounts and programmes because it is licensed and regulated by the CDA. Our licence demands that we hold regular meetings of the membership. Unfortunately, members are not attending our Tuesday social mornings and therefore we are in real danger of being unable to operate as we have done in the past. We know everyone loves the circles but we can only run them under the terms of the licence, which means attendance at some of the Tuesday social mornings.  As you know, RL does not make any money from the Tuesday social mornings, the entrance fee pays for the room rental from the golf club, and we need a minimum of 30 ladies to attend each week in order to break even. We have been subsidising the mornings for a number of weeks now out of RL funds. As we are a non profit making organisation, we cannot afford to do that.

Please tell us what we can do to increase the appeal of our Tuesday morning get togethers. And let us know why you don’t attend. You can only join our circles if you are a member of RL and we ask you please to make an effort to attend some of the Tuesday social mornings on a regular basis. Not every week, but more than never.

Please attend the AGM on 14th January if you can, it will only take up a small part of the morning, and welcome in the New Year with Ranches Ladies.

All Change Again

As you know, Beth Beggs has been President of RL for a busy 6 months but sadly she is leaving Dubai in the new year. We are very sorry to say goodbye to her and thank her for continuing to take on the role of President in very difficult personal circumstances.  She has had a big impact in a very short time.  We wish Beth and her husband all the best in the future.

Beth is however leaving RL in very safe hands as Hayet Zerelli and Julia Handley, both extremely committed longstanding members of RL, have offered to take on the roles of President and Vice President as a joint commitment. We are very grateful to them both and know that RL will flourish with them in charge. Thank you Hayet and Julia.
