Good morning Ranches Ladies!
Earth Day
Established in the 1970’s, Earth Day is acknowledged in over 193 countries and is a day to consider the planet’s environmental progress. The day to mark in your calendar is April 22nd and with the international title of ‘Our Power, Our Planet’ is designed to promote events within communities.
The focus is on protecting ecosystems, as well as encouraging innovators to advance solutions which are needed in resolving environmental issues.
Clean air, safe water and climate resilience are the cornerstones at the heart of the essentials which are required for the planet.
In the UAE emphasis on sustainability, biodiversity and climate action is very much aligned with the Net Zero 2050 strategy which has already been formulated for the country.
Massive renewable energy projects like the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, city wide recycling, mangrove conservation, tree planting and coral renewal are activities already highlighting the work being done to underpin Earth Day 2026.
In Dubai, in a variety of locations across the city including Expo City, The Sustainable City and Al Qudra Lake intend to provide residents with opportunities to participate in beach clean ups, attend nature-themed kids workshops or visit established places like the Green Planet, (for the most up-to-date schedule, it should be noted to check official websites).
Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) are planning to lead clean up campaigns. While Emirates Nature – WWF’s ‘Leaders of Change’ are developing initiatives to promote environmental awareness.
Whether it’s shopping sustainably, volunteering for clean ups in parks or beaches or attending educational workshops there are for our Ranches Ladies plenty of possibilities to contribute and engage in the care of our planet.

On 16 February 2026, a group of Ranches Ladies enjoyed a lovely morning visit at Rustic Home Collection in City Land Mall. We discovered a beautiful selection of rustic-inspired home décor, furniture and unique pieces designed to bring warmth and character to any home.

Congratulations!
Congratulations to our Decoupage Circle leader, Randa Khazim, who recently qualified as a certified Holistic Integrated Arts Therapies Practitioner. Randa put a huge amount of work and effort into this demanding course and her success was well deserved!

Circles Activities
Currently our Ranches Ladies Circles are on a pause, we hope to resume our full schedule of activities as soon as possible. There are over thirty Circles that Ranches Ladies members can be part of. Bowling Circle

The Bowling Ladies would normally meet at Scorpion Bowling Citylands, near Global Village for some good-natured competition wrapped up with fun and refreshments. Please see the Circles Calendar for details of our next meet up.

Cinema Circle
Circle Leader: Marina
The Cinema Circle, led by Marina, usually meet on Mondays at Mall of the Emirates (provided there’s something good to see!) and often meet for coffee or lunch before or after the film. They have a WhatsApp and email group to decide on the film.

Crochet Circle
Circle Leader: Hayet
Knitter Natter sessions are back! Crochet or knit, we don’t mind. Just an opportunity to work on your projects amongst friendly company. If you’re a beginner, you are also welcome. We’ll show you the ropes. The Crochet Circle meet at 12:30pm on Tuesdays for an hour or two. It’s very casual.

This is your newsletter and we need your contributions! What can you share? Please send short articles (as a guide 200 words max), with photos, if possible, to ranches.ladies@gmail.com or the RL Web Updates Group.
Our newsletter is now a monthly publication, on the second Monday of each month. Please can all articles be submitted within 5 days of your event. In the instance that your event occurs at the end of the month, please can your article be submitted 7 days before our publication date to ensure it is included. Articles not received in time may be held over to the following month. Thank you for your understanding!
