Good morning Ranches Ladies!
It’s Eid Al Adha
The festival of Eid Al Adha is almost upon us with the celebrations of this Muslim occasion based on the sighting of the Moon bringing a holiday for a worldwide community.
Key elements of this event relate to sacrifice and the interpretation of it from historical narrative. With the distribution of food to needy people and families being a tangible expression of care for others.
Special prayers are offered particularly on the first day of Eid Al Adha to mark this point on the Islamic calendar and an undertaking of the necessary pilgrimage to Mecca culminates in Eid Al Adha after the Hajj.
You’ll also see that there are many special meals and gatherings with family and friends as part of this celebration.
The holiday imbues a warm atmosphere of giving which will be evident to everyone in the UAE at this time of the year.
So, we at Ranches Ladies wish all of our members a joyful and happy Eid Mubarak.
And hope there’s a moment to create special memories.

A Taste of Chiva-Som in Dubai
On Saturday 24th of May some Ranches Ladies Members attended a beautiful event hosted by Chiva-Som, the famous wellness retreat from Thailand. The event was organised by The Travel Portfolio, our trusted travel partner and held at the breathtaking AURA Skypool on Palm Jumeirah.
To celebrate their 30th anniversary, Chiva-Som treated guests to a delicious Thai lunch created by their Chef Tuach, along with AURA’s Chef Craig Best. The setting, the food, and the atmosphere gave us a true taste of the calm, healing spirit Chiva-Som is known for.
Located in Hua Hin, Chiva-Som is one of the world’s top wellness resorts, offering personalized programs that focus on health, relaxation, and balance. This special afternoon left us all dreaming of a future retreat in Thailand!

Ranches Ladies say Hello to Hello Chef
Ranches Ladies were introduced to an Exciting Concept of delicious Home-Made Meals this week by a Dubai Based Company Hello Chef. We were very happy to be asked to go to The Campus of Hello Chef. The workshop experience was to be an introduction to Hello Chef Meal Kits for a few members using a standard Hello chef Box.
We had a lovely welcome by Roya and her Team and we were introduced to Olivia Manner who founded Hello Chef with her husband in 2015. Ladies worked together with different recipes.
We had fun, preparing, and following instructions on the recipe cards to concoct our meals. There was a broad selection of mouthwatering dishes including Marry Me Chicken, Swedish Meatballs with Potato Mash, Peas, Pickled Cucumber, The Vegetarian Option of Paneer Tikka Masala with Basmati Rice and a range of salads and desserts, including a Lotus Biscoff no bake cheesecake.
A really lovely day and lots of smiles as we stirred, chopped, garnished, and most importantly sampled the fruits of our labours. The food was delicious and easy to follow as the ingredients are weighed, and all ready to prepare at home.

Hello chef has over thirty-nine recipes changing every week, you can download the app, Choose the Box Size for the number of people. Plan your recipes and enjoy weekly deliveries. There is no commitment and if you are travelling you can skip the week and cancel your subscription at any time.
We would really recommend it to all our Ranches Ladies Members. Ranches Ladies can look forward to future cooking workshops during the summer.

Cut the cake
Put the tea lights outside the house
Take out the ornaments
Deck the tree
Fairy lights
Musical evenings
I’ve done this so many times before
Laughter, family, togetherness
All hands on deck, a sumptuous table
Board games and mulled wine
Will I ever get tired of it?
There’s a certain structure to these
Celebrations, rituals , traditions
Both passed through the years
And newly made up ones
They give me comfort
A sense of belonging
A gathering of families
A circle in this life
Both big and small
With friends or children
A new baby
A promotion or a leaving do
They’re the little beacons that brighten each year
I’m old now
I sit at the window
See fairy lights around
Waiting for the kids and grandkids
The house is suddenly abuzz
The children in charge now
I’ve done this all before
Content to watch
To smile
To hold a child
With a heart full of hope
That these special moments
Hold the family together
Give the kids the same happiness
I felt through the years
Today I sit
And plan my own celebration
For when I’m gone
I want no crying or sadness
Just another toast
To a life well lived
Of happy times and love.
