Art exists in all cultures across the globe and from galleries to museums, festivals or films and to music as well as opera, there is an expression of art for everyone. The aesthetics that bind people to place and to each other through the medium of art imbues social capital and strengthens community. So, for a cultural melting pot like Dubai there are many unique opportunities to explore art in its myriad of forms.
Why not consider trying something new in the art world and see if it unlocks your creativity!

A significant global art event is to take place between 18th – 20th April.
The program will bring together government and business entities with the aim to develop and deliver initiatives which will support and promote long term growth in the cultural landscape of the UAE.
Art Dubai is set to champion galleries and artists from local and diverse nationalities with contemporary and digital exhibitors showcasing their artistic endeavours.
Aspects of the art world are to be curated in different categories including Digital Art, Thought Leadership, Public Art Strategy, Education and the Dubai Collection. Each category has its own specific aim of highlighting what they represent and of course are all underpinned by Art. Interestingly, within Ranches Ladies there are many creative individuals who spend time in Art, Decoupage, Mosaic and Poetry Circles each led by knowledgeable and enthusiastic leaders.
Rajul in the Art Circle has an extensive professional background in this subject. Her ladies work with acrylic paint, choose their own projects and learn techniques which help them to achieve paintings to be proud of, with beginners and more advanced painters being catered for. Meanwhile, Randa leads the Decoupage Circle and focuses on the way this art form can promote recycling and sustainability by using a technique with a long historical background. Different materials are used to create a wide range of unique individual pieces that are given a new lease of life.
Aysha enjoys teaching people in the Mosaic Circle which developed after learning about it herself while living in Tanzania. She believes anyone can create some amazing mosaics without having to draw or paint. Using inspiration and imagination she says it is the way to make something that doesn’t have to be perfect.
Carole has a love of poetry which stems from an early age when she was able to recite poems at school. This has now translated into having ladies share and recite two or three poems on a given topic when they meet for their Poetry Circle. All of these leaders share a passion for their art and find satisfaction in sharing it with others. In a wider context Art Dubai will provide plenty of reasons to visit a space where Art can be enjoyed
Hopefully many of Ranches Ladies will dive in and see if there’s anything that appeals to them
For the dancers who find Art in music there’s going to be a diverse mix of disco, funk and world dance to drop into as the sun goes down.

The Ladies Lunch Circle
The Ladies Lunch Circle recently had a lovely afternoon at Ruya Restaurant in the St Regis Hotel on Palm Jumeirah. They had twenty ladies who came to lunch and a good time was had by all !
With April being a busy month with school matters, Eid al Fitr and Easter holidays the next lunch will be in May. Venue yet to be decided!
Karen Richardson, our Lunch Circle leader will post details in the Lunch Circle WhatsApp two weeks in advance of the date.

Tuesday Coffee Morning
The Ranches Ladies weekly coffee morning during Eid Al Fitr holiday on Tuesday, April 1st 2025. The Ranches Ladies Tuesday coffee mornings takes place at Larte, Studio One Hotel, from 10:30am to 12pm. Ladies of all ages, wherever you live, are welcome to join us.

Design Assistance For RL
The Ranches Ladies Media Team is working towards bringing a more cohesive and visually engaging look to our newsletter. The goal is to create a design that feels polished, consistent, and easy to navigate while preserving the warmth and essence of our community. This small refresh aims to enhance the experience for everyone, and I’m here to help with any design needs along the way.
The Book Circle
The Book Circle had a very lively and interesting discussion of “My Friends” by Hisham Matar, a beautifully written book. As one reviewer put it “This is a book about exile and violence and grief, but it is above all – a study in friendship.”
The Book Circle will meet on Friday 25th April to discuss “The Island of Sea Women” by Lisa See
The New Bowling Circle

The Art Circle
We had a lovely Art class today. Ladies were in high spirits after the Eid break and it was great to see everyone working enthusiastically on their projects and catching up and having a good time. If you like painting, do come and join our Circle. The Art Circle, led by Rajul, meet on Mondays (Beginners)
and Thursdays (Regular students) from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in Arabian Ranches 1.
The Mosaics Circle
Mosaic in Ayesha’s garden in an Oasis of Happiness! The ladies have finished some beautiful projects this week. Come join us and make some wonderful pieces. Wednesdays, 10.30am to 1pm.
The Decoupage Circle
Welcome Spring . Starting this Thursday, join us from 10 AM to 1 PM as we create beautiful Easter and spring decorations using decoupage. Let’s get creative and bring the season to life. Please Join from 10 AM to 1 PM for more artistic fun.
Aqua Fit Circle
The Aqua Fit Circle is back with a splash. It’s about having fun with friends while getting fit.
Wednesdays and Fridays 9.30 to 10.30am. Come join us if you are interested in our circle.
Public Speaking Skills
The Public Speaking Skills Circle looks forward to the up coming sessions soon. (Dates to be determined). Come and join us if you are interested.
The Walking Circle
Walking is a fantastic way to stay fit, meet new friends, and enjoy the beautiful weather during the cooler months. Start the New Year with our Walking Circles!
- Mondays at 7 AM – Arabian Ranches 1
- Wednesdays at 9 AM – Marina Mall
