Jazz Dance Class for Dubai Fitness Challenge
Pascale from Optimal Fitness. kindly offered Ranches Ladies a free taster Jazz Dance class on Tuesday as part of Dubai Fitness month. We all enjoyed learning some new moves. Pascale is a wonderful teacher who also teaches ballet to ladies and children and salsa to adults.
Health and Wellbeing Coffee Morning

Christmas Concert by Dubai Chamber Choir
Enjoy A song of peace; A Dawn of Hope; A Tale of Joy, a perfect concert to get you into the Christmas Spirit. Debra (one of our RL members) sings with the sopranos. Dubai Chamber Choir is non-profit with donations funding future concerts. There will be drinks and cake. Hope you can make it.

Poetry Circle
November’s Poetry Circle meeting was on the theme of the Middle East, and one of our new members, Aditi, wrote and shared this beautiful poem on the topic:
“From Sands to Radiant Dreams: The Journey of Life’s Pace”

Beneath the hustle of the busiest street,
A desert whispers, scorched by heat.
Seven months of blazing skies,
Awaiting the breeze as the cool months rise.
From Qudra’s calm to Fujairah’s shore,
And Ras Al Khaimah, now adored.
Who could have thought in the humble ’80s,
This city of stars would house life’s daisies?
Once dunes stretched, vast and grand,
Now floods and rains, by human hand.
The bonfires of nights, warm and serene,
Trade places with casinos, a neon sheen.
Yet, amidst the change, some deserts remain,
A haven of peace from the city’s refrain.
Where time slows down, and the soul can breathe,
A reminder of roots, the sands beneath.
Crochet Circle
Our lovely Crochet group took a ride on an Abra to get to Deira, where we found a magnificent craft supplies shop. Entering into Yarn heaven Led there by Julia. So busy now working on some new patterns to put our spoils to good use.

Gardening Circle
The Gardening Circle spent a wonderful morning at Acacia Garden Centre in Warsan. The garden centre covers a huge area which includes indoor and outdoor plants, a fabulous array of pots, garden furniture & accessories and much more. Ladies were warmly greeted by the manager, Mr Vinoth and Ms Sana and then taken on a tour by their plant specialist, Mr Abbas. Mr Abbas shared a wealth of information and patiently answered all our questions. As well as plants, the centre also has lovely fresh flowers & orchids plus beautiful artificial flowers from The Netherlands. After the tour, ladies were able to enjoy some refreshments in the newly opened coffee shop.
Thanks to everyone at Acacia for the warm welcome and especially Mr Abbas for sharing his time and knowledge. RL very much appreciated the 10% discount which made their shopping even more enjoyable!

Cooking Circle
Last Wednesday, Leila’s Cooking Circle enjoyed very delicious plates! Started with Tabouleh, prawn rice and ended with a sweet taste of “Umm Ali desert” and a big smile! The ladies learnt how to make the dishes and received a copy of Leila’s recipe book ‘Dishes Made Delicious’ to take home.
Details of future Cooking Circle Meetings will be shared on the newsletter once planned.
Decoupage Circle
Decoupage Circle workshop is running as a creative journey to make art accessible and enjoyable for everyone. A space for you and for your children fulfilled with creativity and inspiration led by Randa from Art & Passion every Thursday from 10am till 1pm in Arabian Ranches 1.
Randa will help you to transform everyday objects into a piece of art through the decoupage techniques. Beautiful and extra ordinary ideas will see the light to be a unique piece in your home. All materials are provided along with a cup of coffee and delicious brunch.

Quilting Circle
The Quilting Circle had an amazing meeting last Monday as always. They will not meet up next month so the next meeting will be on January, 20th 2025.

Art Circle
A lovely class on Monday & Thursday with ladies working on beautiful paintings.
The Art Circle, led by Rajul, regularly meet in Arabian Ranches 1. Beginners classes are on Mondays from 10am to 12 noon and regular class on Thursdays from 10am to 12noon. To find out more, please email circles.ranches.ladies@gmail.com
Book Circle

Fitness Walking Circles
The Fitness Walking Circles are walking outside now that the weather has improved.
Mondays 7am – Arabian Ranches 1
Wednesdays 9am – Marina Mall starting from 20th November 2024
Both walk for approximately one hour and have tea or coffee nearby afterwards. Look forward to seeing you in the fresh air.

Volunteers needed for Newsletter and Social Media
Ranches Ladies needs volunteers for:
RL newsletter – helping to edit the newsletter. Basic IT skills only required as training will be given.
Vivienne is stepping down from this role due to other commitments and training new volunteers to take over by the end of 2024. We already have two volunteers but need one or two more ladies to share this task, so that it won’t take up much time for each.
RL Social Media – adding posts to Instagram and Facebook.
Mariana has been doing an excellent job with the RL social media for more than 2 years and is now looking to hand this over due to other commitments. We already have one volunteer but another could help to share this task.
