Ranches Ladies Edinburgh Reunion 2024
On 5th August 2024, Mary Harvey organised a Ranches Ladies summer lunch reunion in Brown’s restaurant in George Street in Edinburgh. This has become an annual event. Ten ladies attended from all over Scotland, and from England and Wales. The nine ladies in the group photo from left to right are Jean Maxwell, Susan Grey is behind her then Jan Hennessy , myself, Linda Ross is behind me, May Wren is in front, Shirley Grey is behind May, then Anne Archibald in red and Mary Harvey the organiser at the end. Sarah Abraham, who is not in the group photo, flew up from Wales. All have all been stalwart members of Ranches Ladies over the years. All but two were former members of the Scottish Dance Circle, which I ran for several years. We chatted all afternoon in the restaurant as it was too cold to move to Princes St Gardens as usual. It is really wonderful that all these ladies continue the friendships made while they were in Dubai and great to see them looking so well.

Art Circle
The Art Circle had a great class last week, and enjoyed catching up after the Summer break. They started a group project, Wheat field with cypresses by Van Gogh.

Crochet Circle
Knitter Natter sessions are back! Crochet or Knit, we don’t mind. Just an opportunity to work on your projects amongst friendly company. If you’re a beginner you are also welcome. We’ll show you the ropes.
The Crochet Circle meet at 12:30pm on Tuesdays for an hour or two. It’s very casual.

The Poetry Circle usually meet once a month in Savannah AR1, to share and discuss poems on a theme. They will re-start on Monday 30th September at 2 pm. The theme is ‘The Weather’
