Good Morning Ranches Ladies!
October is International Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to increase awareness of the disease and raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure.
Breast Cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers, but it is treatable if found in the early stages. Awareness and early detection are the key to enabling many women to live healthy cancer free lives after treatment.
What can you do this Pinktober?

- Get screened for breast cancer. Circles Coffee Morning
There was a fantastic turnout at the Ranches Ladies Circles Coffee morning last Tuesday, with almost 70 ladies attending. It was wonderful to welcome many newcomers to Ranches Ladies as well as others renewing their memberships.
Ladies signed up for different activities, made new acquaintances and caught up with friends over tea and coffee and sweet bites.
Thank you to all the members that helped make the circle morning such a successful event.
A special thank you to Jackie and Josephine for coordinating such a great morning.
Dance With Joy
Rajul Chander wrote this poem for the last Poetry Circle, on the theme of dance:
I never thought there was a chance
That in my life I could dance
I am as stiff as a stick
And dance to me would never click
Carole is the one who teaches dancing
She is the one who gets everyone prancing
She has been dancing since the age of six
Whatever dancing issues you have, she will fix
She will go from wall to wall
And she will come to you whenever you call
You move your hands and you move your feet
And before you know you are following the beat
I joined line dancing thinking it would be in vain
But in a short while I realized it’s my gain
I sing I dance and I feel the joy
As I move on the floor and begin to enjoy
No more a stick, I am a swinging tree
My feet feel light and my soul feels free

Tuesday Mornings
Ranches Ladies are meeting every Tuesday morning at Larte Restaurant in Studio One Hotel, Studio City from 10.30am – 12pm. Join us this Tuesday.
If you have not yet renewed your membership for the year 2023-24 you can do this on Tuesday morning at Larte Cafe, Studio One Hotel. Membership is required for RL activities and WhatsApp group. New members are also welcome to join.

Please bring completed membership form, your Emirates ID (or passport if non-resident) and fee of 120 AED (please try to bring exact change).
If you are unable to get to Larte on Tuesday morning to do your renewal, you can ask a friend to bring your form, copy of your ID and membership fee.

International Lunch Festival
Gardening Circle
The gardening circle had a lovely morning today with Sonal from GardenBox and Deepa, a miniature garden enthusiast.
Sonal gave us a lot of useful information about growing both vegetables & flowers in shallow containers. She has some very informative planners on her Instagram which tell you when to sow your seeds, companion planting and much more. Check it out @gardenbox101022
Deepa gave us a crash course in how to make and care for a miniture garden. Deepa’s delightful miniature gardens can be seen @deepa_creates
Many thanks to both Sonal and Deepa for sharing their expertise and giving us lots of ideas to try out.
Art Circle
The Art Circle, led by Rajul, meet on Thursdays 10am to 12 noon. They are creating some beautiful paintings and experimenting with new techniques. New members are welcome.

Jewellery Clinic Circle
The next Jewellery Clinic Open House is scheduled for Thursday 26th October, 11am. Bring along any old jewellery that has sentimental value or some that you don’t wear anymore. Hayet can help you redesign it or fix it and enjoy wearing it again.
Poetry Circle
Line Dancing Circle
The Line Dancing Circle meet at Melodica Dance Studio, near Waitrose in Motor City.
Wednesdays 10-11am for Intermediates and Fridays 10-11am for Beginners.

French Circle
The French Circle, led by Bea Sion, meet on Monday mornings, 10am to 12pm.
Last week they discussed the origins and growing of saffron and Allison made saffron tea to taste afterwards.
If you know some basic French but would like to improve and learn more, join the French Circle. New are members welcome.

Uni Mums
Uni mums – a social group for those with kids at university – meet around once a term. They also have a WhatsApp group.

Ranches Ladies Quilters are a group within Ranches Ladies who love creating with quilting, sewing and embroidery.
