Festive Bazaar – Sunday 11th December

Don’t miss our annual festive bazaar. It always a fun event, as well as a great chance to buy unique gifts for loved ones.

Ranches Ladies Christmas Festive Wreath making & festive coffee morning will be on Tuesday, December 13th 2022 at Larte, Studio One Hotel in Studio City. Open to Ranches Ladies Members and visitors.

Christmas Choir Concert

Dubai Chamber Choir will perform a variety of Choral Christmas Classics along with a few traditional Carols for you to join in with.

Tuesday Coffee Mornings at Larte

Ranches Ladies are meeting every Tuesday morning for coffee at Larte Restaurant in Studio One Hotel, Studio City (across the roundabout from the back entrance of Arabian Ranches 1) from 10.30am – 12pm.

Good news! The road from the back entrance of Arabian Ranches to Studio City has reopened, with new traffic lights instead of the roundabout.

RL Circles News

The number of Circles activities are increasing so it is not possible to fit each one on the newsletter every week. See the Circles Calendar for November on the website for more activities. Due to the holidays some Circles may not be meeting in December, please check with Circle leaders.

International Lunch Circle

Ai Ling hosted a wonderful traditional Thanksgiving lunch at her home, assisted by Yvonne and Sue, for the International Festival Lunch Circle. Ai Ling’s husband is from Virginia and she learned the recipes from his family. We enjoyed a delicious lunch and were told the Thanksgiving story by Ai Ling’s two children George and Alexandra. The lunch was followed by some party games and Carole recited two poems about the first Thanksgiving and the arrival of the pilgrims in America. We finished by decorating chocolate cupcakes with Thanksgiving colours. The room was decorated with a Thanksgiving theme and we wore either autumn colours or the red, white and blue of the American flag.

Volunteers are required to host or help with future lunches based around International Festivals.

Walking Circle

After their walk last week, the walking Circle met for breakfast at The Hamptons to say goodbye to Theunisa, who is leaving Dubai. Wishing you all the best in your new life Theunisa. We will miss you and hope to see you again soon.

The Walking Circle meet on Mondays at 7.15am outside the main entrance of the Community Retail centre in Arabian Ranches. Tea/coffee in Costa afterwards at 8.15am.

Beach Walking Circle

The Beach Walking Circle, led by Monika, at Kite beach (Blue Villas parking) on Tuesdays at 6.30am, walk for around 7-8 km and stop for coffee afterwards.

‘Blocks of the Month’ by Ranches Ladies Quilters

The Quilters Circle had a great meeting last week. Saba gave an interesting presentation and the quilters are also busy preparing for the upcoming festive bazaar.

The Art Circle, led by Rajul, meet on Thursdays from 10am to 12 noon. They are creating some beautiful paintings and experimenting with new techniques. New members are welcome.

Literary Lunch Circle

Last Monday, the Literary Lunch Circle enjoyed much at Lezzet Turkish Restaurant in Dubai Hills Malls while discussing ‘Small Things Like These’ by Claire Keegan.

Their next read is The 2022 Booker Prize winner ‘The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida’ by Shehan Karunatilaka. They willl next meet in January to discuss this book.
