Expo 2020 Dubai begins in just 19 days!
Tickets are on sale now to this long awaited event, the largest to ever take place in the Arab World with participants from 191 nations. Multi-day and season passes are also available, as there will be too much to do and see in just one day.
Entry is free for kids and youth up to 17 years, students, senior citizens 60 years+, and people of determination.

Tuesday Mornings
Sadly, we do not yet have approval to restart our regular Tuesday social mornings, we will let you know if this changes.
In the meantime, some RL members and potential new members are meeting informally for coffee at LARTE restaurant in Studio One Hotel on Tuesday mornings from 10.30 – 11.30am.

Membership Renewals
Thank you to all who have already renewed their membership for the year September 2021- August 2022. If you have not yet renewed, please do this as soon as possible.

The Makers’ Market is back
ARTE is the UAE’s largest pure handmade designer, art, fashion & craft market will be at Mercato mall on Friday. Find up to 150 contemporary and highly original makers and designers. Entrance is free.
Studio One Hotel
Larte Italian Restaurant, in Studio One Hotel, has a new family brunch, every Friday starting 17th September. Or get the girls together for a ladies night on Tuesdays or pizza on Wednesdays.
RL Circles News
Several circles are restarting their activities this month. Others, such as mahjongg, cinema, uni mums and gardening will recommence in October.

Yoga Circle
Mariana is restarting yoga teaching on Mondays and Thursdays 8.30am – 10am from 13th September. Venue and fee to be confirmed. The format will be 60 minutes of yoga and 30 minutes for tea and snacks.

Quilters Circle
Ranches Ladies Quilters are a group within Ranches Ladies who love creating with quilting, sewing and embroidery.
Monthly meetings are on the third Sunday of the month, starting 19th September. Meetings are currently online until further notice.
The Quilters will be doing activities, such as the ‘block of the month’ and inviting local and international quilting experts, to share their work and teach different techniques.
There is an additional membership fee to cover meetings and materials for Ranches Ladies Quilters. You are welcome to attend a meeting before deciding if you would like to join.

French Circle
For those who know some basic French but would like to improve and learn more, join the French Circle on Mondays at 10am, starting 19th September. The venue varies.

Art Circle
The Art Circle, led by Rajul, meet on Thursday mornings to learn new techniques and create beautiful paintings. The venue may vary.

Literary Lunch Circle
The Literary Lunch Circle meet on the third Monday of the month to discuss a book they have read over lunch.
They are currently reading ‘Both of You’ by Adele Parks, a shocking, immersive thriller about disappearing women, dark secrets and toxic relationships. It will be discussed on Monday 20th September.

Book Circle
The Book Club meet on the third Sunday of each month at 10am.
The book for September is ‘A Fall of Marigolds’ by Susan Meissner, a compelling, inspirational novel about love and acceptance. It will be discussed on Sunday 19th September.

Scottish Dancing Circle
Although the Scottish dancing circle led by Carole are keen to start dancing again, they have decided that it will not be possible to do this while following the current social distancing guidelines. They hope to start again once restrictions are eased.
Poetry Circle
The poetry circle previously met on the last Monday afternoon of the month (pre-COVID) to read and discuss poems on a particular theme. Due to some members leaving Dubai, they are now down in numbers. If you are interested in joining the poetry circle, please email circles.ranches.ladies@gmail.com
Ideas for new circles
Are you interested in researching your family tree? Carole would like to start a genealogy circle, if there are others interested.
Any storytellers? A storyteller circle would involve ladies meeting to share experiences and stories on a given prompt.
If you have a different hobby or interest and would like to start a new circle, please let us know.
