.Ranches Ladies Newsletter

This is a good time to say thank you to all the frontline health workers wherever you are, you have put yourselves in danger to protect us and your selflessness has not gone unnoticed. Thank you all

The holy month of Ramadan is entering it’s last week.  This has been a quiet and gentle period of time and we are looking forward to the celebration of Eid. There has been a relaxation of the strict restrictions.  Please follow all the social distancing guidelines issued by the government and have a safe and happy month

Tuesday Morning Social

17 May at 10am

We had a surprisingly successful RL Tuesday Social on Tuesday 12 May via the social messaging app Zoom! As a result we are very keen to keep them going and plan to do a second one on Tuesday 19 May at 10am.
Please let us know if 10am UAE time suits you or if another time would be more convenient. Beth was able to join us from South Africa but it is earlier in Europe and UK and we would like as many RL members to join us as possible
You will need to download the app, if you don’t already have it, and email Jackie on circles.ranches.ladies@gmail.com to let her know you would like to join our Zoom coffee morning.  Jackie will then send you an email invitation which you can use to join the Zoom meeting.  Just click on the link in the email you receive at 10am on Tuesday.

RL Circles News

We have had some lovely RL news from UK where Nazreen’s daughter Zoya has given birth to a healthy little girl in Liverpool, Feya Abidi.  The medical team were amazing.  Congratulations to the whole family

As the circle leaders are getting to grips with social media a number of the circles are having virtual meetings online.  Jackie has been able to set up a calendar of circles for May

Please email circles.ranches.ladies@gmail.com with your pictures, suggestions and activities. We love to see what everyone is getting up to during this unusual time.

Where are you at the moment? Please let us know and send some lovely photos like Dianne who is in lockdown in Grantham, Lincolnshire in UK having been evacuated from deepest, darkest Peru.  Dianne is missing all the circles, particularly Scottish Dancing, and all our lovely Ranches ladies

Look at this masterpiece by RL quilter Jo Curtis. Jo has been using the lockdown to complete a lot of her unfinished projects.  This particular 3D quilt takes an enormous amount of preparation and planning and is not for the fainthearted.  Absolutely stunning

Silk Painting

Rajul is looking forward to when the circles will resume and she can restart her silk painting classes. She is a talented artist but she can teach you some of her techniques and skills so anyone can produce a silk painting of their own.  This particular piece has been inspired by hope following the period of lockdown.

Mums and Tots

Natasha Tompkinson is Yvonne Elliott’s daughter and she has created a new Instagram page where she’ll be sharing ideas on how keep your child happy and entertained whilst learning at the same time. She is an early years teacher with a wealth of knowledge that she’d love to share.

All you have to do is search for @inspire_tiny_learners on Instagram!

Keeping Fit

Sarah at Optimal Fitness is offering to start an online zumba class for RL on Thursday mornings, suggested time 9.30am.  Email circles.ranches.ladies@gmail.com if you are interested in some fun fitness!

Book Circle & Literary Lunch

Our next book is Grown Ups by Marian Keyes which will be in May. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for an actual meeting but if not, zoom is a good alternative!

The Literary Lunch Circle is reading the Lido by Libby Page
